Visual Illusions
Renee Magritte created the painting "Empire of Light". The visual illusion created from this image is that the light is nit lighting up the city, but that it is lighting up the sky instead. That is why the city is dark, but the sky is light blue with white clouds. The painting play tricks with our perception. It takes a couple of minutes of looking before the viewer realizes there is something "wrong" with this painting. Is it day or night?
